The Morcott Brook Project

The Morcott Brook project area is situated on the northern edge of South Luffenham in Rutland. The project was designed to tackle the adverse effects of cattle grazing on the river banks. They caused significant bank erosion, losing large quantities of soil into the river and preventing aquatic vegetation and riffle habitat establishing. The works involved bank re-profiling, provision of a new cattle drinker and riverside fencing.
