Sunday 11th July was this year's date for the Stamford River Day on the Town Meadows. After a worryingly dull start, the weather picked up and provided some glorious sunshine for the adults and children who visited the event to learn about the River Welland and its ecology.

In addition to the Stamford Rivercare Group and the Welland Rivers Trust, there were displays and information from SKDC, the RSPB and Anglian Water. A number of live bands provided a musical backdrop, whilst the inner man (and woman) were catered for by Grassmere Farms, who provided a variety of hot food from their barbeque.
