Three work parties led by The Welland Rivers Trust and the Environment Agency saw himalayan balsam bashed, footpaths cleared and invading scrub cut back along the length of the Stamford Millstream between Melancholy Walk and the Tinwell Pumping Station. These efforts have opened up light and views into the millstream, created a diversity of habitat and vastly improved the ease of access for walkers taking in this hidden green corridor. Well done to everyone involved!
There’s always more work to be done at this site, with work parties for the local community planned over the winter months. If you want to get involved, contact the steering group through their Facebook Page or email Amelia Billington for more information.
